I read Wintering last year after a quote was used in an art workshop and was profoundly moved by it. Sitting with the idea that like nature, we can't be fruitful all the time. This quiet resting and withdrawal is where so much is happening under the surface. Like the plants that die back, recoup energy only to grow again in Spring. This year I've tried to go with the engergy withdrawl, felt that retreat and then the unfurling again, as the shoots start appearing.
